How does Plantura Box Tree Moth Trap work?
Our trap attracts male box tree moths with the help of pheromones. If you find moths in the trap or notice them buzzing around it, a caterpillar infestation is to be expected in the next 1 to 2 weeks. So pheromone traps such as our Plantura Box Tree Moth Trap help you detect infestations early - they are only an indirect pest control method. For best results, replace the pheromone dispensers in the trap every 4 to 6 weeks.
How can I get rid of box tree moths effectively?
As already mentioned, our pheromone trap helps detect infestations at an early stage and only attracts male box tree moths. The females, however, can continue to lay their eggs. Therefore, new caterpillars will keep hatching. To actively combat the caterpillars, we recommend applying XenTari® - an effective remedy against the voracious box tree caterpillars. It is a biological insecticide that is applied to affected box trees and stops the caterpillars from feeding immediately after application.
Robust & reusable: easy to assemble and refill
To assemble the trap, screw the funnel onto the main body of the trap and attach the roof to the funnel. Take one of the dispensers out of the protective foil and place it in the pheromone container. Put the safety cap onto the container and attach the container to the roof of the trap. Replace the dispenser every 4 to 6 weeks. When you order our Box Tree Moth Trap, you will receive 6 dispensers. You can also order our Box Tree Moth Trap Refill, so you can keep using the trap over and over again.
